PREMIERE: Spoek Mathambo - Don't Mean To Be Rude (Toadally Krossed Out 3ball Remix)
If you don't know much about South African MC Spoek Mathambo, here's my co-sign—most of my summer was spent with dude's Mshini Wan on my speakers, whether it was just dolo at home or on breaks from marathon listens of Doug Loves Movies during a long drive from San Francisco to Austin. And his verse on the Diplo x Stenchman remix of Robyn's "Dancehall Queen"? On rewind all day. While he's commonly looked to as a rave artist, Spoek is the kind of MC who spits insults like it should be a rule for any rapper. "Don't Mean To Be Rude" is all bad ass bombast, in spite of its polite title. Our favorite masked duo, the Mad Decent-affiliated Toadally Krossed Out rubbed it dubstep here for Spoek's Don't Mean To Be Rude EP, out January 10.
