PREMIERE: The Golden Filter - White Nights (Psychic TV Cover)

Christmas. A time for joy, a time for cheer, a time for repurposing Jim Jones’ death tapes. Electro-disco vaporists The Golden Filter bring haunt to the holidays with an iridescent cover of (25-year acid video punk vets*) Psychic TV’s “White Nights.” The seemingly harmless refrain reminding us that Santa is forever watching was purportedly used to infect the Peoples Temple kids with paranoia, and the title “White Nights” isn’t about snow. It’s the name of the cult’s rehearsals where members discussed Kool-Aid before the main event. And with that, Happy early Christmas to all, and to all a good night! Celebrate/mitigate it by picking up The Golden Filter's gorgeous debut Voluspa now.
