For a band made up of just two dudes, Tanlines has a lot of grounding in the culture—and not just with their world-y pop dance jams. Eric Emm was part of the mathy Don Caballero, while other half, Jesse Cohen, rocked the keys in Professor Murder (who I will always have a soft spot for, as their name comes from HBO cult classic, Mr. Show. Viva Bob and David!), who released an EP exclusively on RCRD LBL. Their coalescence, though, is as harmonious feet-movers. On "O Seizing The Day O", a collab with Luke Jenner of inimitable post-punk revivalists, The Rapture, they follow suit—tropical and club-ready. But Tanlines is always all summer jams and especially aurally friendly when the weather is about to get oh so very cold. Find this communion on Volume On, a Tanlines compilation on Family Edition.
