Thunderball are from Washington DC, so their ability to flip different world sounds into one experimental finished product is quite in line with their roots. And they don't mess around, having even collaborated with OG Afrika Bambaataa, one of the first dudes in hip-hop to really push the limits. "Rio Mescalito" has a whiff of accordion and Spanish guitars, but is still handclappin' with a house music beat. Mexicans With Guns fires a laser storm on the whole thing—embellishing the guitars and then bringing the track into something straight dubstep, eventually wonking those guitars right out of the picture.
