DOWNLOAD: James Pants - Darlin'

James Pants' '80s-influenced electronic comes to us by way of the dude's own ambition. As a high school kid in Austin, Texas, he cut out of his prom early—with his date—to find Peanut Butter Wolf, who was playing a show in Pants' hometown, to try and get down with Stones Throw. It worked. "Darlin'" is fuzzy with yearning synths, a love song for the lo-fi set, replete with doo wop "whoa, whoa, whoa"s. And since his output is beget of being highly focused and young, it's no surprise that Tyler, The Creator of LA's skater-cum-truant rap collective, Odd Future, sites Pants as an influence, in spite of their music's polarities. Pants' album Love Kraft will be out in 2011 on Stones Throw.
