Not to come on like Old Grandfather Time, but I remember how every album I listened to when I was growing up in the Nineties would end with a guitar epic that pushed itself way past the six-minute mark. Those songs would always be sung by someone who sounded tired and heroic at the same time, as if they'd momentarily risen above whatever nervous breakdown they were going through to realise how alive emotional crises actually made them feel. You can probably guess where I'm going with this, but if Yuck's "Rubber" was one of those songs already then Mogwai were only ever gonna feel like ramming the point home, and sure enough this remix delivers, sounding like how you feel when you listen to Spiritualized with every light in the house turned off.
