Spanish electro sartorialists We Are Standard have a sunny new remix album and as we’d hoped, it’s both utterly ingratiating and boasts liner notes full of the most gleeful writing we’ve ever come across. ‘Loco dance values’—sure. Flagrant ‘hedonism’—yep. A little ‘more brilliance,’ ‘a few more blows of batteries,’ coupled with ‘extraordinary tensions and celebrations in gymnasiums’—why not? On offer today are mixes by Montreal’s minor-chord king CFCF and French new-waver Anoraak, and even with these big guns in tow, the Standard’s Basque shake cannot be contained.
