DOWNLOAD: Minitel Rose - Wild Birds (Wagner Remix)
Much of my favourite music from the last half-decade has been dance music that's impossible to actually dance to. This Wagner remix of Minitel Rose's "Wild Birds" seems like it's gonna go the same way at first, rhythmic pulse absent in a beautiful synth wash that resembles Teengirl Fantasy and The Field in that it's so shiny and precious-sounding you don't actually mourn the lost chance to work up an ecstatic sweat. A couple of minutes in, though, and the feel of the track starts to change, kick drum thud leading you off onto the dancefloor like the clammy hand of a would-be high school lover you thought too shy to try it. I can only hope more moments like these will follow on Minitel Rose's new album Atlantique, because if I'm still waiting for someone to dance with when it drops on November 22 I'm gonna be really fucking fat.
