While most of the UK's bass motley prefer to withdraw to the shadows of bedroom or booth, the original version of "Neurotic" saw London-based Subeena step up to the mic for the first time. Greymatter's response is to follow her lead to the extent that those vocals—chattering the title word from the back of the mix like something imminent to dread—seem kind of unnecessary on this remix. Greymatter has listened. He has learned. Hence this coming on as something more paranoid than a two-day old rabbit after a three-day amphetamine binge slap bang in the centre of Foxtown. Seek out that original version, backed with remixes by Egyptrixx and Ghosts On Tape, now through Subeena's own Opit label.
