PREMIERE: Crystal Fighters - Follow (Diskjokke Remix)

The original version of Crystal Fighters' "Follow" starts fairly slowly, but builds eventually into something violently persuasive, drums, synths and vocals banging like a building site Klaxons, altern8 and the cast of Dario G's "Sunchyme" all miraculously happen to be working on at the same time. The difference between that and this remix, courtesy of Norwegian disco/house crackerjack Diskjokke, reminds me of that old fable about the sun and the wind and the man with the coat. While the wind's attempts to blow the man's jacket from his back don't work out, the sun's gentle rays warm him into removing it of his own volition—which isn't to say I'm taking a moral standpoint on which version of "Follow" is better, but it is a lot harder to look good in a gale. Crystal Fighters' debut album Star Of Love is out October 4, a release they'll be supporting with a UK headline tour that kicks off tonight before calling in at London's newest venue, XOYO, tomorrow evening.
