I guess this constitutes a ballad for Marnie Stern, the pace toned down from 'haywire' to something merely 'frenetic'. "Transparency Is The New Mystery", taken from Stern's new, self-titled album, may be less breakneck than usual but it's certainly not tame or limp, guitars barely containing their restlessness as they crash up against the end of bars, Marnie's vocal delivered in a familiar anxious whine. We're sure those guitars get a chance to let loose on Marnie Stern, out through Souterrain Transmissions on October 4.
