Slight change of pace here for London's Primary 1, who unplugs to cover a duet American popular culture's been returning to since 1926. Among other things, "You Belong To Me" has been used in eBay ads and Steve Martin's classic of idiot cinema The Jerk, while Eddie Vedder sung it with riot grrrls Sleater-Kinney at their last show a few years back. Here, Primary's drummer Anna Prior (also of Metronomy) picks up the part of the female vocal for an acoustic version so sweet you'll have to reawaken your ears with insulin shots. Primary 1's debut album is out February next year through Atlantic, and if you haven't seen The Jerk, you need to check that shit out pronto. Best opening line in idiot cinema history?
