PREMIERE: Claire Maguire - Ain't Nobody (Memory Tapes Remix)
Every time I listen to Memory Tapes, I'm always struck by how in-tune he sounds to the parameters of daytime radio even though, realistically, he'll most likely never grace its airwaves. Paired with Claire Maguire here he's in good company—some voices are just to big for tinny FM tunings, and Maguire's is one. Dayve Hawk pares "Ain't Nobody" down into the sort of sound I imagine came leaking from car windows in American cities in the Eighties. Though maybe I've just been misinformed by Knight Rider. Is that shit accurate? The original version of this is out October 18 through Polydor—and information that staunch won't be lost in Transatlantic transmission (October 19 in the US, I think).
