These songs deserve the boombox-outside-your-crush's-window treatment. That or clammy palm slow dancing (preferably with smoke machines). Tears For Fears, Disintegration-era Cure, Phil Collins–all are a suitable reference points for Kamtin Mohager's The Chain Gang Of 1974. Nostalgia may be at a premium and we should probably be tired of listening to stuff that sounds like it came out the year we were born, but a good pop song is still a good pop song, regardless of zeitgeist points. White Guts, the Denver band/project's debut album, is forthcoming.
