These New Puritans together with Salem's surely one of the finest post-generic pairings imaginable: both bands working as they do to create music that, as well as being thrilling, sounds completely unlike anything else out there. I'm not sure how much of the original "Hologram" remains - that track's airy, art-pop atmosphere is invaded here by drifts of Salem's trademark black smoke - but you wouldn't expect anything else from a group so pungently and potently their own. I'd probably add in a whine about the band's outstanding second album Hidden not making the Mercury Prize shortlist here if it weren't already such a well-banged drum - "Hologram" will be the third single to be lifted from it, and it's out August 9th.
