Once the voice of long-running dance-pop duo Everything But The Girl, Tracey Thorn hasn't sung club music in years. Her last two albums–2007's Out Of The Woods and May's Love And Its Opposite–were of a decidedly mellower bent; the older, family-focused singer now backed with roomy, adult-rock and folk. But those left wanting to hear her out instead of in can breathe easy–Metro Area's Morgan Geist has reshaped new Love And Its Opposite single "Why Does The Wind?" into classic, squirrel-synthed robo-disco; a welcome, if non-permanent, return to club environs. It's but one of a new quartet of remixes that just came out through Merge.
