No offense to Chilly Gonzales, but the guy looks a lot more curmudgeony than he sounds. The mood differential between this photo and "Never Stop"'s nimble piano tinkling and rapping (guess you could call it that) is great–one is darkly brooding, the other is verbose, hilarious, self-aware. The multi-faceted producer (Feist, Jamie Lidell) and songwriter has a new album of these piano-man-cum-hustler diatribes on the way; it's called Ivory Tower and is due September 14 through Arts & Crafts. Seems like awhile, but it'll take some time to parse this one fully anyway.
