PREMIERE: Kode9 - You Don't Wash (Actress Remix)
Kode9 seems to lead lives belonging to many men - university lecturer, founder and top boss of London's trailblazing Hyperdub imprint, and (most pertinently here) producer and DJ in his own right. "You Don't Wash" was made especially for Kode's DJ-KiCKS release, out now through !K7, and has been reworked here by another bass polymath. Actress's new album Splazsh revels in wondrously addled, haunted atmospheres of its own, and on the surface of things this seems altogether more party-bound - the eeriness lurks, though: beneath whistles and funky chimes. The ghosts haven't been exorcised so much as exercised. Top.
