PREMIERE: Unicorn Kid - Dreamcatcher (PhOtOmachine Remix)

Oh, British electronic music, how your newfangled microgenre names never cease to amaze us. Here we have Scottish producer Unicorn Kid, who landed on our desks bearing the words "chiptune" and "grimewave," both of which sound more like Guitar Hero expansion packs than musical genres. Which, we guess, is kind of the point. "Dreamcatcher," at least in the hands of Brixton's PhOtOmachine, is huskier than 8-bit and more fluid than the grime or garage–it's basically music you'd fight ninjas to in Second Life, assuming there are ninjas in Second Life. Or Timbaland if he took coding classes with Zomby. Whatever it is, it exists, it's here, it's great, and it will make you want to put Hackers at the top of your Netflix cue.
