The last time London had a budding, crimson-voiced soul fanatic singing about substance abuse, the ensuing career path was kind of a depressing trainwreck. So good thing Tennessee native and former Spring Awakening cast member Lauren Pritchard is already over the hump–new single "Painkillers" is more cautionary tale than I'll-do-whatever-I-damn-well-please anthem. Brooklyn's Body Language were summoned for this specific bony-rhythmed, bass-bleeding version, while Wasted In Jackson, Pritchard's debut album, is set to arrive in the fall.
