When Colour Revolt were just five dudes starting to break out of Mississippi, they sounded like Fugazi with drama degrees. A debut record and five years later, they are now a duo and sound less Fugazi-ish. Maybe they got tired of screaming; everyone inevitably does. The drama is still there, though–new single "Our Names" is loaded with gracefully navigated crescendos, tangled thickets of guitar, and singing that could be described as bookishly operatic. It's from an album called The Cradle, which lands on August 10 through their own New Fear imprint and Dualtone.
