Among the songs Beninese siren Angelique Kidjo tackles on her new sorta-covers album, Oyo, is Curtis Mayfield's "Move On Up," done as bright, shuffling Afro-jazz with Bono and John Legend. In their version, Radioclit–who despite not being African are now presumably getting the call to remix anything Africa-related, which we can't really be mad at because they are awesome–toss Bono and Legend aside and reset Kidjo with a steadily throbbing tribal-house backdrop, the result being this club track that pushes toward a precipice without stumbling over it.
Oyo is out now via Razor & Tie. Kidjo has a bunch of shows lined up, including a performance at FIFA's massive World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert in Johannesburg on June 10.
