RCRD OF THE DAY: Tame Impala - Runway, Houses, City, Clouds
Tame Impala are from Perth, on Australia's Western Coast. It's the country's fourth largest city, but to us it might as well be Saturn, and the quartet's stargazing psychedelia–particularly the steeped-in-phaser, seven-minute riffstorm that is "Runway, Houses, City, Clouds"–is doing nothing to alter that assumption. Noodly without being wanky, epic without being interminable, it's like the golden fleece of psych songs. That or the white rhino of psych songs.
