Odd, brave and brilliant, Chrome Hoof are perhaps the only band around today who can make silver suits look like the future again. "Crystalline"'s disorientating racket sounds as much like ESG as it does Gong, as much like HEALTH as it does Funkadelic, as much like the odd tooting of lunar horns as it does space nettles singing in a Looney Tunes short. The new album this fell from is called Crush Depth, and is out through Southern in June.
