DOWNLOAD: Elliott Smith - Last Call + Twilight
Legacies are a tough thing to handle, especially when they concern a figure as simultaneously brilliant and tragic as Elliott Smith. Already a cult hero before his death seven years ago, Smith and his songs were, in a word, precious, and repackaging music like that is something best left to those that can do it respectfully, i.e. Kill Rock Stars, the Northwest indie-rock institution that put out his mid-nineties masterpieces Elliott Smith and Either/Or. Last Tuesday, KRS re-released Roman Candle, his 1994 debut, and From A Basement On The Hill, the record he was working on at the time of his death, which came out posthumously in 2004. They're available here in a variety of physical formats, and should you for some reason need proof of their timelessness, a song from each is below.
