London's Scanners deserve to be retroactively placed on every great nineties teen flick soundtrack–Clueless, Can't Hardly Wait, maybe even She's All That–not because their knife-sharp indie-rock is diminutive, but because it better and more badassly summarizes starstruck romanticism than, say, Sixpence None The Richer. Dim Mak will soon release a remix package for new single "We Never Close Our Eyes" (from their recent LP, Submarine) with this muscled-up version from Canada's The Angry Kids included. Not as nostalgic as the original, but it is an opportunity to ask someone for a dance.
