Prins Thomas' reputation precedes him. As a core member of the Norwegian space-disco nexus, he's been cranking out trippy marathon dance cut after trippy marathon dance cut for the better part of the last decade, thereby positioning himself as one of the go-to guys for dance music that's let its hair down. So, no surprise that "Orkenvandring," the opening track to his new, self-titled album (the first under his own name), clocks in halfway between eight and nine minutes and hardly sprints there, its flanged guitars oozing slowly over liquid bass and unhurried drums. It's not lazy, but it's definitely something to be lazy to.
