MAN/MIRACLE don’t just mix mortal and divine in their moniker. The Oakland foursome also jumps the musical divide between noise and melodic alt-rock. In “Other People,” we’re lulled into a throwback, down-home vibe backed by swaying gee-tars and honeyed vocals before suddenly devolving into an aggro-smashfest. And as fast as the thrashing commenced, we’re back again, in the pitch-perfect tonality of before. Was it all a dream? We’re still not sure. What we do know is the band’s debut The Shape of Things was produced by Eli Crews (WHY?, Deerhoof) and is out on Third Culture Records now. A string of tour dates is below the fold, and after today, they all include Rogue Wave.
