Penguin Prison's already proven himself both an adroit remixer and remixee, but finally we're just getting him, sans intermediary. "Something I'm Not" is off a new double a-side 7-inch for Neon Gold that precedes an album that's due later this year (and, evidently, features Holy Ghost!'s Alex Frankel). It'd be weird to not point out the obvious heritage–its twitchy, hyper-emotive soul owes a lot to MJ–but it's also wholly futuristic, a groundswell of icy nano-synths and nimble-fingered programming. Basically, the kind of pop that makes you want to wear suits all the time.
