The Bundles are sort of a supergroup for the low-brow indie set, anchored in the friendship of former Moldy Peach/Juno soundtracker Kimya Dawson and New York anti-folk luminary/comic book artist Jeffrey Lewis. Lewis and Dawson initially started working on music together in 2001, though years of path-crossing never resulted in anything more than a handful of unrecorded songs and the occasional live collaboration. They finally got into a proper studio last February, and, with the help of engineer-cum-band-member Karl Blau and a few others, put together a self-titled debut for K that will finally be out on March 9. Precedent freebie "Pirates Declare War," which ruminates on Funyuns and Cheetos and sounds, unsurprisingly, like infantile basement punk, is below for your perusal.
