White Denim: their name alone implies weirdo ruggedness, and indeed, over two, self-produced albums, the Texan trio have bent garage-rock's metallic edges to a crazed, virtuosic degree. On "YoYo," the only thing stopping that heaving, rumbling soul machine is its own brevity, and that's fine–such potency is best dished in small doses.
