We bridled a bit at Monarchy's anonymity gag (though, to be fair, that graphic offers more info than most–they are dudes! with short hair!), but eventually their sweeping, glossy disco-pop won us over. Hardliners we are not. Here, their first single "Gold In The Fire"–fresh in the wild thanks to Neon Gold–lands in the palms of London's We Have Band and North Carolina's Hidden Cat, the former pursuing a buzzy, minimalist drum version and the latter methodically layering squishy pads over robo-house tempos.
