If Caribou's last album Andorra sounded perfect for summer afternoons spent dousing guts in posh cider, "Odessa" points towards a more thrilling future: ecstatic funk wails tickled by spiky bass peaks and itchy, random percussion. It's more late-night-Friday than 3pm-Sunday, and not exactly the sort of thing Dan Snaith's known for, though that may all change come the arrival of new LP Swim in April.
