Oakland's Xiu Xiu have a new album coming out called Dear God, I Hate Myself, which would be a cloyingly emo title were the music not so disjointed and manic. Like, it can't be easy being Xiu Xiu–they sound so troubled. The new record's title track, which we're premiering below, navigates passages of electronic weirdness and affecting pop, and its opener–the more bucolic though no less morose "Gray Death"–is equally dramatic and kinky. Dear God, I Hate Myself is out through Kill Rock Stars on February 23.
