While we're told their new album, Know Better Learn Faster, is a break-up record, San Franciscan indie trio Thao With The Get Down Stay Down don't do mopey. "When We Swam" paints the severance in beach metaphors and twisted doo-wop rhythms, while the title track is shuffling and agrarian, fiddle and slide guitar laced throughout. Both are below, the former exclusively, while the band roll through New York tonight to play the Bowery Ballroom. More tour dates after the break.
