In certain circles, Andrew Weatherall's name rings out. During the late eighties and nineties, the British producer/DJ was something of a bridge between rock bands and the then-climaxing rave scene, working with Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and others on a string of productions and remixes that were headily epic and impeccably engineered. And he hasn't really slowed down. Gigs producing acts like Fuck Buttons and continued remix work have kept his name current, as have DJ gigs that light freaking bassbins on fire. "Walk Of Shame" stems from his new A Pox On The Pioneers LP, the first album he's done under his own name (previous efforts were released as Two Lone Swordsmen or The Sabres Of Paradise. No, we don't get the sword fascination.) A leaden balearic tune with elements emerging from the expansive ether, it's classically Weatherall and a good preview of his slot at Fabric's 10th Anniversary party next Saturday in London. More info on that here, divine club sounds below.
