Just learned that Steve Gunn is releasing a new album next month and thought it was important that you hear a preview asap. Gunn represents a distinctly individual energy signature within the psychedelic-folk tradition traced out by deep searchers like Sandy Bull, John Fahey and Robbie Basho, and on the insanely cool jam “Mr. Franklin” (which features pedal steel from frequent cohort Marc Orleans) he picks and sings as if he’s got one eye on the infinite and the other gazing inward.
