Less than a year old, and clean off a tour with Calvin Harris, MSTRKRFT and Little Boots, Yes Giantess arrives as a big, bursting pop act bearing Pixy Stix remixes and tracks full of twinkling white synths. “You Were Young” almost sounds like it was recorded inside my third grade diary, while their Little Boots and Passion Pit reworks inject trancey whale song echoes or muzak-style-Casio chords. In October, the four Berkley students (don’t hate) who’ve played in previous incarnations of Passion Pit and the Death Set, hit the UK for the NME Radar Tour prior to CMJ.
