Culprit is a new label out of Los Angeles circling around the city's Droog crew, a DJ collective and party that's been kicking around sharp, wormy house sounds for a few years. In light of their second release–a new EP from Kenneth James Gibson (aka [a]pendics.shuffle)–they're giving away "Red Light District," an unreleased track from their first project, Hot Natured's h.e.a.d.s. EP. Hot Natured is actually Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, the former a British house sensation, the latter a LA-via-Chicago regular. This one hits all the marks Jones built his rep on–hard rubber kicks, coarsely snipped vocal pieces, a creeping, sub-128bpm pace–it's just a bit stonier than we're used to. Also worth scoping out is their release of edits for Wolf + Lamb.
