VIDEO THRWBCK: Huggy Bear - Her Jazz (1993)
Based on this performance alone, Huggy Bear should’ve been the most influential band of the ’90s. This is from when riot grrrl was still a new thing, and well before the term was liberally applied to any female of the species with a bit of moxie. The co-ed band (and their girl-boy hypernation) absolutely tear it up in the studio of British TV show The Word, from which they would later be ejected for being too goddamned cool. The folks at ATP should have an entire division devoted to trying to make this reunion happen.
