L.A. powerpop quartet Army Navy has classic indie rock cred—their frontman sang with Ben Gibbard and the guys roped in Elvis Costello’s drummer for their eponymous (and Pitchfork-beloved) debut. “Saints” is a fine and fizzy pop ballad—earnest and bright, while the accompanying video seems to have the band vomiting on themselves at the College Humor offices. Juxtaposition! New album will drop next year. In the meantime, Army Navy is available on the band’s very own label, The Fever Zone, while the vinyl for “Saints” is dually out in the UK on Fierce Panda's Fandango Records.

Sounds like: Teenage Fanclub, The Posies, The Libertines
