If Delorean’s music is indicative of even a tenth of the pulse in Barcelona, we’ve picked the wrong city. On the surface, this hot-blooded foursome is pure rapture—their Ayrton Senna EP on Fool House is unabashed, beach house bliss. In the lead single “Deli,” the popsynths and catchy riffs wield joy, the live vocals a first-crush exaltation. And yet, underneath all that clappy jumping lies soul, a fierce darkness as unmistakable as the wave of depression that hits every Sunday night. Ditto with the rework of  “Big Dipper” in which Darabi turns the sunny original into an introspective moonwalk. Dancey and with depth! That’s something we haven’t seen in quite some time.
