EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Pit Er Pat - Evacuation Days (NGUZUNGUZU remix)

This track has been driving me crazy for days, ever since I picked up Pit Er Pat’s new High Time Remixes EP (pressing of 300, hurry). The Chicago trio, now an L.A. duo, struck a flawless Slits-style post-everything dread vibe on the original of “Evacuation Days.” The remix by NGUZUNGUZU (of L.A.’s Wildness party fame) is all that and so much different, a ghost-dub shaker with tropical highlights drawn out into the light of darkness. It’s driving me crazy! Maybe Pit Er Pat will do an all-night version of the song when they play their first duo shows in Brooklyn at Market Hotel and the Bell House this weekend (drummer Butchy Fuego then goes deep as one of nine drummers in Boredoms’ Boadrum 9).
