If you've ever had the unfortunate luck of trolling musician classifieds, you know that "influences" can mean everything. A young Yngwie just isn't going to vibe with a group of players that are really into, say, Einstürzende Neubauten, sad as that is. Durham, North Carolina's Red Collar were clearly vigilant about recruiting members that shared favorite bands–their DNA rests on like three major touchstones (see "sounds like" below), all worthy of emulation. Basically, they're like a good version of The Gaslight Anthem, which is to say they have some balls.
