To call Japan's Boris "legendary" would be gratuitous, but considering I just checked and, yes, they've released fourteen albums of eminently rapturous guitar music, they deserve a classification more complimentary than "long-running". Scion, continuing to do whatever they can to make us forget they actually make cars for a living, tapped the band for their next remix series, soliciting versions of "Buzz In" from Todd Edwards, Nosaj Thing, Mixhell, and Glaswegian duo Optimo. Optimo are sort of the most adaptable DJs on the planet–one minute they're editing the Crass records discography, the next they're compiling old R&S singles into the year's must-hear mix CD–so obviously their version seems like the most naturally mutated, as if adding congas and milky way synth arpeggios was the most perfectly normal thing to do.
