VIDEO THRWBCK: Pulp - Babies (1992)
Pulp shot two versions of this video, this one from 1992 and another in 1994. Why have I plumped for this one? I'm not sure. Maybe Cocker's chest hair. Maybe his flares. I suppose at this point they weren't really aware of what was to come for Pulp and for Jarvis. Adulation. Jackson-gate. Being denied a Number One chart hit by Robson and Jerome. At this point it was all ahead for Cocker's flares and his follicles - an anticipation captured in his eyes and in the song itself, even if the video tries its hardest to be post-modern and dully unaffected.
