Volcano Choir is Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and Milwaukee's Collection Of Colonies Of Bees, who are also apparently Vernon's favorite band. Though they began collaborating a few years ago, before Bon Iver was your little sister and Mom and girlfriend's favorite band, they're just getting around to putting out some music–an LP called Unmap, due out September 22 via Jagjaguwar. "Island, IS" is its first MP3, a swell of lucid, between-the-sheets post-rock. The FADER astutely mentioned it kind of sounds like Prefuse 73. We think it's worth mentioning Vernon kind of sounds like Chris Martin in a way that is the opposite of aggravating.
