We've been following The Gaslamp Killer for a minute now, from an excellently out there We Make It Good mix to YouTubes of what was one of the most talked about sets of this summer's Sonar fest. So we were psyched to see that the Los Angeles DJ is finally lining up a proper release–the My Troubled Mind EP–for Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder imprint. Its first MP3, "Anything Worse", is cut-to-bits Hitchcockian robo-funk, and, as Nick Catchdubs expertly pointed out in his Rappin Ass Thursdays column yesterday, flips the same sample used on Mobb Deep's "Cobra". EP is out on Tuesday (8/4).
