For all the bones made about disco's mutated resurgence, the stuff still makes us feel really good, and far be it for us to let some duds ruin all the fun. Parisian producer Joakim's new and third record, Milky Ways, takes the genre to a playfully weird space (this is a dude who named his backing musicians "the Ectoplasmic Band" and wears three layers of clothing in his press photos), but as evidenced by the church-y pianos and ascending arpeggios in "Love & Romance & A Special Person", he is still a dude who is familiar with our endorphins.
