Not to demystify this whole thing, but rarely are us RCRD LBL editors slogging away at it side-by-side. We generally work from home, which allows for some strange interaction with roommates that either don't have jobs or work nights, like Vince, the charming but manic bartender with whom I share a wall. Vince woke up early today, around 10:30, and immediately began cleaning: sweeping floors, washing dishes, and generally decluttering our lives. Omaha's UUVVWWZ seem ready made for him, a restless, twitchy, do-everything-at-once-and-do-it-fast prog-punk band that somehow manage to never sound annoying or overstuffed. "Joy Dad" is from their excellent and eponymous debut LP, out now through Saddle Creek.
